Air India Group has temporarily suspended all flight operations to and from Dubai International Airport after a drone attack on an oil tanker near the airport triggered safety concerns. The incident caused a fire in the vicinity of the airport, prompting authorities to briefly halt flight operations.
The airline confirmed that both Air India and Air India Express flights to and from Dubai were canceled for the day following the disruption. Airport authorities managed to control the fire within a few hours, and officials reported that no injuries occurred during the incident.
In a statement, the Tata Group-owned airline said it is closely monitoring the situation and prioritizing passenger safety. To assist affected travelers, the airline is allowing passengers to rebook their flights for a later date or cancel their bookings with a full refund without additional charges.

Passengers can modify or cancel their bookings through multiple channels, including the airline's website, mobile app, or its AI-powered digital assistant Tia on WhatsApp.
Air India and Air India Express also stated that regular flights between India and other West Asian destinations, including Jeddah and Muscat, are operating normally. Several scheduled and non-scheduled flights between India and the Gulf region are expected to continue, depending on slot availability and operational conditions.
The airline said it will keep passengers informed as the situation evolves and operations resume.
