Nepal’s tourism sector is seeing renewed international activity as corporate and travel-industry groups arrive in the country following recent flooding.
On September 17, 2026, a 185-member corporate delegation from Bangladesh arrived in Kathmandu, highlighting continued business and travel links between the two countries.
The visit comes as Nepal continues its “Nepal Calling” campaign, launched by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to encourage international travel and address concerns about tourism safety following flooding in parts of the country.

The delegation represents Walton Plaza, a Bangladeshi corporate company. Nepal Tourism Board Acting Director and Spokesperson Sunil Sharma, together with Senior Officer Prem Prasad Bhattarai, welcomed the group at Tribhuvan International Airport.
The Nepal Tourism Board said the visit reflects continued interest in Nepal for both business and leisure travel. An additional 30 members of the Bangladeshi group are scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu on September 18.
The arrival also provides an opportunity for Nepal to strengthen its corporate and tourism connections with Bangladesh while showcasing its hospitality and tourism experiences.
Nepal’s tourism authorities have been working to communicate that most major destinations remain open following the August flooding. The “Nepal Calling” campaign forms part of these efforts to provide clearer information to international travellers.

The message reflects Nepal’s broader effort to encourage international visitors and maintain regional tourism connections as the country works through the impact of the recent flooding.
Nepal is also preparing to welcome a 133-member delegation representing the IATA Agents Association of Sri Lanka and the Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka.
The organisations have selected Nepal as the venue for their annual general meetings. Their representatives are scheduled to visit Kathmandu and other destinations from September 17 to September 20.
The participation of travel professionals gives Nepal another opportunity to showcase its destinations and tourism infrastructure to an important regional market.
The arrival of corporate visitors from Bangladesh and travel professionals from Sri Lanka comes as Nepal seeks to maintain international interest in its tourism sector.
